TREASURERS REPORT
Everything agreed to be ok. End of year report has now been completed and independently examined by Selina Ross (WDCVS).
£37.65 was raised at the Church table top sale on Saturday 23rd February and £36.00 was raised from the sale of books on Amazon site.

APPLICATIONS
Application completed and issued to local grant board. We are requesting funds to hire a function room and climbing wall. Climbing wall is to attract 10 -16 years to our community event.

If awarded the funds Linwood Active will cover the costs of entertainment for the under 10 years.
CORRESPONDANCE
As new website has now been launched, we have received excellent feedback on our work from the community. All positive comments thanking us and keep up the good work. There was also feedback on the KOMPAN design.
FEASIBILITY STUDY
Completed document now received. Copies distributed to members to view.
As yet the site investigation report from Cowal Drive Park has not been published. Environmental Services are also still waiting to have Cowal Drive transferred to them from Housing and Property.
PLAY PRACTICE DESIGN
Junior area
It was agreed that the style of roundabout should be changed to a flat disc with bars which is also a multi purpose item.
Senior area
There are no multipurpose items for the over 5’s, a few items should be included. Layout to be changed slightly, so as kick about space not hidden by the shrubs.
Over all the design is very impressive
FUNDRAISING
CLOTHING RECYCLE
Textile bins are just having the art work completed and will be on site by 15th March at the latest. City reclamation survey sites and have advised that Tesco site would be open to vandalism. They advised to put this textile bin in place once Tesco is built. The textile bins will be sited at Linwood Sports Centre (available 24hr) and also at the Linwood Recycling Centre Middleton Road (Summer Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 8.30pm, Friday 9.30am - 7.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am - 5pm) (Winter Monday to Sunday 8am – 5pm)
COMMUNITY CENTRE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The committee have invited us to their table top sale on Saturday 15th March. They would like to turn it into a table top/fun day. It was agreed to accept this offer. Ideas included arts and crafts, bouncy castle, face painting, music and refreshments. Time tbc advertisement will need to be organised quickly and bouncy castle hired.
MOBILE PHONE RECYLCE
In support of Linwood Actives efforts Sustainable communities have support this project by covering the expenses of storage. Scott brought the envelope design, committee very impressed and very enthusiastic about the project. Mobile returned in envelope will raise £3 towards Linwood Actives funds, Greener Solutions will issue a regular report to show how many mobile that they have received. Some phones may be worth more, Scott to supply details on how to calculate this.
St Benedict’s Excel Group has been working with Scott and has raised £50.00 from collecting mobiles which they have donated to Linwood Active. They have also agreed to take 1000 of our envelopes and will distribute to parents with a letter.
We have had good support from a few large companies, it was agreed to approach them and ask if they would distribute the envelopes to their staff. BAA and Andrew Moran have expressed an interest in doing this.
FUN DAY
To be carried to next meeting as application board do not meet until 19th March 2008. If awarded funds event likely to take place August 2008.
COMMUNITY SHOW
10th March sponsored tap a thon there is 20 ladies taking part in the sponsored event, one of the ladies works for Chivas and they have agreed to match the money raised for the tap a thon
27th & 28th March 2008 Linwood Community Centre 7pm – 10pm tickets £3 Adult and £2 Child
All proceeds from the tap a thon and show are being donated to Linwood Active.
SPRING CLEAN
Date: Sunday 27th April 2007
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Meeting Point: Entrance to Cycle path across from East Fulton Primary School
Schools and Nurseries to be approached and asked if they would like to take part again this year. Sustainable Communities has donated 50 litter picks and 20 pairs of gloves. Timetable to be organised so as schools/nursery can borrow them for Spring Clean.
COMMITTEE TRAINING
WDCVS had offered to hold fundraising training for the committee, local venue to be sourced and date to be agreed.
SUSTINABLE COMMUNITIES
Linwood Active would like to thank Sustainable Communities for their fantastic support over the last year. We are all very sad that you will be shutting on the 31st March 2008, but wish you all the very best success for your futures.
